Bishopsgate (Low Level) railway station[edit]

Hello. I've become interested in the lost Bishopsgate (Low Level) railway station, and have been trying to use Google and Bing maps to trace where the old platforms used to be, but have run into some trouble in my research. I'd also become interested in the photo featured in the infobox as part of the post:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bishopsgate_(Low_Level)_railway_station#/media/File:Bishopsgate_(Low_Level)_railway_station.jpg

I was curious what we're looking at, here? From this photo...

https://media.subbrit.org.uk/10295/1563201502-bishopsgate-goods-yard-plan.jpg

...I can only imagine we're looking at the down local platform, but I'm not really seeing it in the photo even though it's marked as being of a platform. Can you help me out in describing givin the surrounding streets as reference where this is? The diagram I posted seems to show the down local platform on the north side of the cut and between Commercial Street and Wheeler Street. --Criticalthinker (talk) 08:25, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Errr! Very good question about a very old photo! If I recall, I was travelling into Liverpool Street on this journey, and the camera is looking south... possibly between Commercial Street and Wheeler Street? In which case, the track I'm on is the up local, and the up local/down main platform would be in that gap in the picture. Potentially the arches in the back are part of the up main platform.
(talk page stalker) That's the old Wheeler Street Station platform, the visible tracks are the up and down electrics, and the photo is taken from the up main. Source: Five years working the Norwiches out of LST. Right Away, Station Master! :) serial # 16:28, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
So then this isn't a picture of the subject of the article? That's what I'm trying to figure out to make sure it's appropriate to be included in the article. serial, if you could describe to me where each of the four platforms were for the subject station, let me know on my talk page or the talk page of the article on this station. --Criticalthinker (talk) 15:32, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
