Hear Anderson East Cover Dylan’s ‘Forever Young’: Ram Report

Recorded with producer Dave Cobb, song appears in a new TV spot airing during the NFC championship game

Anderson East, who teamed with producer Dave Cobb to release his soulful major label debut Delilah in 2015, has reunited with Cobb for an unexpected new cover: a rambunctious take on Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young.”

The song appears in a new ad for Ram Trucks (Ram Trucks sponsor Rolling Stone Country‘s daily Ram Report). East, who is known to most mainstream country fans for his relationship with girlfriend Miranda Lambert, transforms Dylan’s uplifting ballad into a sweaty, jangly jam, shouting the chorus as if he’s voicing his very last hope.

The singer is gearing up for a busy spring. He’ll play a string of festivals, including Stagecoach in California and Atlanta’s Shaky Knees, and he also has a song on the soundtrack to the Fifty Shades of Gray sequel Fifty Shades Darker.

East’s “Forever Young” will air during the Atlanta Falcons/Green Bay Packers NFC championship game this weekend.
