They should be worried about both. Corporations, in theory, are the same as govt: a group of individuals with a shared goal. Both can be corrupted and both can be used for good.

These are International passengers, who by definition are already carrying (and have presented) passports containing their photos. I dislike intrusive gov't policies as much as the next person, but logically, use of "facial recognition" here is redundant. What am I missing?

Nothing, really. As an architect who works on airports where these will be installed and who has researched this, it’s based on facial recognition from passport photos that are already on file.

Facial recognition software is easily fooled.... This is yet another con for more spending -private contractors inventing a new expense we don't need.

Facebook facial recognition is always mixing up my niece with me. As far as I understand there is tech to scan ears..ears are like a fingerprints. This redundant system is probably more about just collecting data on us, ie ear print!
